Upcoming Festival Screenings!

“Provocative…”—Los Angeles Times

“A celebration of the roots of the creative process,”—Huffington Post

“Without a doubt the best series on jazz that’s ever been produced.”—All About Jazz

Never before has jazz music meant so many different things to so many different people.  From hip-hop to be-bop, from jam-band to free-form, the music continues to grow and shape itself in ways as varied as the musicians who play it.  Icons Among Us is not a historical look at what has been called “America’s Music,” but rather a timely, vibrant trip through the clubs, festivals and lives of the new generation of jazz musicians,

Features some of today’s brightest talent, including Terence Blanchard, Nicholas Payton, Bill Frisell, Bugge Wesseltoft, Esperanza Spalding, Ravi Coltrane, Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Miguel Zenon, Medeski Martin & Wood, and many more.  Also included are these artists’ legendary predecessors Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Wynton Marsalis.
